most springs slip in gradually with that first layer of white, then yellow, then the reds and purples and pinks. (even this colorblind guy can appreciate that) this year it came in like a lion, all within one week. perhaps because of the mostly mild winter?

the tulips that we always try to dig up and put where we want them to go but they grow and multiply where we dug them up anyway.

the lilac bush. it was a gift from morfar when he was last here and has been moved twice since. perhaps it will bring more flowers this spring than the last.
