My (Monika's) brother and cousin participated today in the oldest, longest, and biggest cross country ski race in the world. It is Sweden's "Vasaloppet" which is 90 kilometers long (that is 56 miles, folks) and some 14,000 people participate every year in the main race. This year they celebrate the 83rd anniversary of the race.My brother made it in 9 hours, the professional skiers were done in just under 5 hours and I would have dropped dead exhausted after probably less than an hour. Many people in Sweden love the challenge of this legendary long distance race. Maybe it is the viking heritage. My brother has run multiple marathons and when he got bored with that he has taken on triathlons and now this grueling all-day skiing race. Why did he get all the discipline in our family?

Hej. jag följde Daniels också, han höll på 10.15 Rolf har inte orkat kommentera det än på bloggen men han ringde från Mora vid sjutiden och var nöjd med prestationen.
Hi, here I am. My time was 8:59:00 (important that it is just under the hour...) and my position 7000 (a round figure!). Almost more tiring was the early hours (woke up at 3:45 am), waiting before the race and the 4 hour trip back to Stockholm.
That is a really long day. You are a true ironman!
