malta

I (Monika) went to Malta for three days with work for a "conference". It was the annual Nordic get together with the offices from Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, and Helsinki. All in all we were about 210 people. The trip was good, we stayed in a beautiful hotel, everything was well organized and the weather cooperated with us especially sinced they had planned a day at the beach and dinners outside. Everything worked out in our favor, the only time it rained we were inside for part of the short conference. It was a great little break in warm weather.



We got a quick tour of Mdina, the original capital of Malta that was built on the highest point of the island, only 300 some meters above sea level. They abandoned the town as capital after a while since it was nowhere near the sea.

We got a little time to walk around Valletta, the capital of Malta. Only 10 people made it to the sightseeing that morning, most were sleeping in after a night on the town. Valletta is full of palaces, churches, and monuments to their knights and grandmasters of the order of St.John. Very beautiful.
