We sold, gave away or abandoned our car, furniture, bikes and household items. We weighed out getting a container to bring our stuff back to the States vs selling and replacing stuff on arrival and again it seemed to be a no-brainer, just like when we moved to Sweden. The cost of shipping vs the actual cost of the items didn't pass the common sense test. Still, our car was paid for there which would have been nice here, but nobody works on Renaults in the States anymore and it's kind of like importing a Ford Escort...
