last night was not the night either, but...

We're still freezing at night/late afternoons, but there have been pretty good melt offs during the days and it has been sunny enough to invite us outside even if it is still hovering around freezing. It was so sunny the other day the boys wanted to go out and play. Somebody suggested 'brandboll' ('fire ball' in Swedish) so we went out in the remaining snow and played.

Brandboll is a little like American baseball in that you swing at a self pitched ball with a bat, but it's probably a little more like baseball batting practice than anything else. Still everyone gets a turn and has fun and we all win for being outside with the sun on our faces. The snow was crunchy and deep enough still that it helped with fielding the balls. They'd come to a dead stop on impact.

Our last vacation to the States we brought back some wiffle ball bats and a batting tee. When we come back we'll probably leave the bats here but we'll likely bring back the batting tee. It's a cheapy and without a little supervision it's going to get broken and end up in the recycling bin. We will, of course, bring back our brandboll set.

That does remind me to make another mark on our count pad.
