maritime museum

Since the day after Easter is a holiday in Sweden we took the day and went to the Maritime Museum.
Housed in a cool old building.
This looks like one of the boats that goes in and out of Stavsnäs harbor. Those might have a little less plywood and taller captains.
When does this ship get to port?

Hard to starboard!

First mate Sammy. Looks like sunny weather.
Capt. Jakob inspecting the sails.

A huge tower near the museum that can be seen across Stockholm.
Kaknästornet.

Seemed appropriate that after visiting the Maritime Museum we see the Birka ship
returning to port(through the dirty bus window). We can see these very big boats at night off in the distance from mormor's house.

Cool. Is this a new museum for you?

Your boys would never get that kind of exposure in OHio!

You know, looking at these pictures, the museum is a lot more than just a kids' play area. There were hundreds of model ship replicas and portraits and displays on ship building. They even had the real stern of a 15th century ship on permanent display. We may have been distracted from taking more pictures because of back pain John was having.
